HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW
Not that anyone is still left reading this, but once again I'm going to sound like a broken record and say that I'm too busy to tell what's going on. I got home from an incredible Chicago trip late last night, and early tomorrow morning I'll head to Kansas City. Besides not having time to post any updates, I've also not read any of my friends weblogs in about a month, and, I've got unanswered e-mail from nearly two months ago. So, I really feel out of the loop on many levels, but things will slow down just slightly when I get back from KC.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
'Busy' does not even begin to describe my life right now. I have nothing but good things happening, but boy, am I tired. There's just too much going on for me to tell right now. On Tuesday I got back from a two and a half week stay in DC and in less than six hours I'll be on my way to Chicago. When I get back, I'll turn right around and head for Kansas City. I'm really looking forward to this Chicago trip, but I just wish I could put it off for a couple of days so I could rest up.
Anyway, over the next week, I'll try to back track all the events of the last month. For once, I have more stories to tell than photos to post. With no time to spare, the best I can do for now is to show a couple of shots from the Washington Nationals game I went to on Sunday.

ENCORE
Remember when I said I was going to take a break and tackle some projects of my own? Well, that didn't happen. A day or two after I said that, I got called back to DC for a couple of weeks of "Quarter End Crunch" work. That was a great trip, even though the weather kind of sucked. I also did a couple of minutes worth of 3D animation for a video/infomercial, which was a pretty interesting project. That company is just getting off the ground, and with any luck, I'll be doing more animation for them soon.
While I was in Washington, I got a call from my Dad who wanted to throw an idea out at me. He said since we had so much fun with the opening reception of his sculpture show, why not do it again? So, we're planning a closing reception for "When Frogs Fly" on Friday night, April 8th. I've put up some information on the event here. If you're going to be in the area, please stop in and say hello.

WHEN FROGS FLY
Well, the opening of my dad's show was great! We had a big crowd, especially for the slide presentation. My dad gave a short talk about the design and construction process of the Leapfrogs, and then he talked a bit about how that led to the smaller flying frog sculptures that are in the show.
We've also got a bunch of frog concept drawings on the walls, along with a series of photos from Leapfrog, and the two original clay development models for the standing and squatting frogs. The whole show is very whimsical and the smiles on everyones faces made it clear that they liked what they saw. The show will be up through April 8, so stop in and check it out.
On that note, I'm going to be taking a hiatus from this photojournal while I work on some personal (non-paying) projects that I really want to get off the 'To Do' list. So until later, take care and keep warm.

TONIGHT!
Tonight is the night! The opening reception of my dad's show, "When Frogs Fly." He has some incredible work in the show, and he'll be giving a talk and a slide presentation (which I'm finishing up right now). If you're going to be in the area, please stop by (see invite below).
Also, I had to declare my previously mentioned healthy streak over. I'm just about all better right now, but I was feeling like crap for a while. I did however drop 7 pounds while I was sick, so at least I got something good out of it.
I'll post more photos from the show later. Wish us luck!

COLD?
It's been a whole year since I dropped to freelance status with my employer of four years in Washington and started taking on other contracts and design projects in addition to still doing work in Washington. It has been a great year and with a little luck, 2005 will be just as good, if not better. Before I moved away from DC, I had a string of illnesses that stretched from late August to mid December 2003. If I wasn't suffering from the nasty throat infection I got in LA, I was battling migraine headaches or fighting off a series of colds. That was a rough time, but since then I haven't had so much as a sniffle... until this morning. I woke up with a sore throat, and by noon, I was feeling just a little bit of chest congestion. I'm not ready to say the healthy streak is over yet, but the warning signs are there. If it is a cold, then the timing is really going to be a problem.
We're now less than a week away from the opening of my Dad's art show. "When Frogs Fly" is looking great, and I'm really excited about the opening on Friday night. He's got a lot of really cool sculptures in the exhibit, and I've even got a few frog related photos in the show to help reinforce the theme. After the event next week, I'll post some photos. Let's just hope whatever it is that I might have will be gone by then and I'm feeling 100 percent.

SO MUCH TO DO...
The date of my dad's art show is quickly approaching, and I'm busy helping him get things ready. His show is called "When Frogs Fly" and it explores the many clever devices frogs create to take to the air. He'll also be giving a slide presentation which among other things, will cover the construction of the Leap Frogs. If your going to be anywhere near Erie, PA on Friday night, February 18, please drop by and check out the exhibit. By the way, for those of you who might not know, my dad and I are both named David, but technically I'm not David Jr. because we have different middle names. Just thought I'd clear that up.
I've got lots more happening here, but nothing I can reveal just yet. In the mean time, if you (again) are in the Erie area don't miss "Bat Boy the Musical." I have several friends in it, and it's funny as hell, and definitely a show not to be missed! Good stuff, kids!
